Today, I am celebrating 19 years of marriage! In my family, that is a record. I am so blessed to have found the man that I literally want to spend the rest of my life with. The road is not always smooth, and if you've been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know that what we have is certainly not perfect but at the end of the day I know that we love each other. Not many people have that.
One of my favorite memories of our wedding is our wedding song. It was "The Deeper the Love" by Whitesnake. My dad and step-mom pretty much had a fit at that. I can remember Collette asking "What are you gonna do, rock and roll to that??" Which was even funnier than it sounds because SHE was the cool one! I know a lot of people tend to choose really syrupy ballads for their first dance even if the song means nothing to them. Frank and I were HUGE Whitesnake fans and so we chose a song by them that actually meant something to us. It was what was commonly known in the 80's as a "power ballad" and so yes, we rocked that slow dance with some big hair music. How cool were we?
So to my wonderful husband, here's our song. It's lyrics are still as meaningful today than they were 19 years ago (maybe even more now). I love you!
When I look back
On everything I've done
I know you must have cried
A river of tears,
But, you were there
When I was feeling low
To walk me through my darkest fears
So when the sun goes down
An' those nights grow colder,
I will be there
Looking over your shoulder
An' the deeper the love
The stronger the emotion,
An' the stronger the love
The deeper the devotion
There were times
I almost let you go
When I thought I needed to break free,
But you were there
To whisper in my ear
Why don't you share your dreams with me.
So when the sun goes down
An those nights are growing colder
I will be there
Looking over your shoulder.
An' the deeper the love
The stronger the emotion,
An' the stronger the love
The deeper the devotion
I don't mind, what you're doing to me,
I don't mind, 'cause you're all I can see
I don't mind, baby, you mean the world to me
When the sun goes down
An' those nights are growing colder,
I will be there
Looking over your shoulder, baby, baby, baby.
So When the sun goes down
An' those nights are growing colder,
I will be there
Looking over your shoulder.
'Cause the deeper the love
The stronger the emotion,
An' the stronger the love
The deeper the devotion...
I never gonna let you go,
In my heart, I know.
I really love you, I love you.
Oh baby, I really love you...

Guess Who's Two Years Old?

ALL STACE, ALL THE TIME! THAT'S WHO!!
Yup, this blog is officially two years old. I still cannot believe that I've kept it going and how much fun I've had doing it. I LOVE having some place to go where I can just talk, rant, rave and let loose whenever I want to. Some of us need that release.
I want to thank all of you who have stopped by daily, weekly or whenever. You guys ROCK! I wish I was like some of those fancier blogs that host giveaways and whatnot, but I'm just not there yet.
So thank you, again, my friends. It has been an awesome two years and I'm looking forward to many, many more! Have a blessed day!!

And Not Just From the Blogging World...
You know, the last couple of days have been filled with love from the blogging world and I love all of you for it. Yesterday I celebrated the love of my life. I know, I know, I've been bragging on Frank lately but I still cannot believe that we've been together for TWENTY years and yesterday was our 18th wedding anniversary! Where does the time go?
Here's the thing that I love most about us - we are just simple people. There was no big fan-fare, no hooplah. We didn't need it. Saturday night both of the kids were out of the house and so we chose that night to make ourselves an awesome dinner by candlelight. It was wonderful. After twenty years together - and we've lived together all but five months of that time - I still fee
l like a young girl when he looks in to my eyes. We sat and ate and talked, but there were moments of just silent "gazing". How corny are we???
Even though we had our romantic anniversary dinner Saturday night, our actual anniversary was yesterday. Frank went to work, I did what I normally do (not much of anything), I made us a nice dinner and then we each had our favorite desserts - Frank, a Napoleon, me - Hagen Daaz Chocolate Chocolate Chip ice cream. And you know what? It was perfect. Frank felt bad that there were no flowers and no cards but you know what? That really doesn't mean much to me anyway. I mean, sure they're nice but flowers die, cards get thrown out or stuffed in a drawer. It was nice to just be able to sit and talk with one another and still be able to share our hopes, our dreams, our concerns...
I don't begrudge anyone who wants all of the fan-fare and hooplah, but to me that just distracts from the person who made it all possible. So I love you, baby! Thank you for a wonderfully intimate anniversary weekend. You are the best!
Now it's back to the real world, maybe a little less love - laundry is going, turkey chili is simmering and I'm off to do a five mile walk. Have a great day friends!

After Twenty Years, the Adventure Continues!!
Twenty years ago today, Frank and I had our first date. I KNOW! Wild, right? We met at his sister's college graduation party where he generously offered to pour me a drink.
Sigh.
We talked, we laughed, he invited me to go to a bar with him and his friends but alas, I was not of age and did not have proof, and so he left. Seriously, I think I was a little more interested that he was! So I did some investigating, got his phone number and two weeks later, called. We played phone tag for another couple of weeks and when we did finally have time to talk, we talked for hours! After several of these lengthy phone conversations, I was like "So are you EVER going to ask me out?" And he did.
And we've been together ever since. Romantic, right?
The Frank and Stacey of 1989 were: Frank was a machinist working twelve hour days living in a basement apartment, Stace worked in retail management at Foxmoor's (a Junior clothing store) and was renting a room at a friend's house. Somehow these two crazy kids found each other and fell in love. I moved in less than two months later and he hasn't been able to get rid of yet!
Happy Anniversary, Baby! I love you more each and every day!

Happy Blogiversary, to me!
One year ago today I finally hopped on the band wagon and started my own blog. I can't say what finally made me do it, but I went home one afternoon after work and just did it! I am so glad that I did.
This last year has been wonderful - at least in respect to having the blog! This has been a place where I can keep my family and friends up to date on what's going on in our lives, I've been able to vent and just share some funny stories about the crazy things that seem to happen to me. And if you've been following for any length of time, you've seen that PLENTY of crazy things happen to me!
I've met some wonderful people who have become friends and added so much laughter and joy to my life. On the flip side, I've also had to deal with some not so friendly people (remember the Jet Blue incident?). But either way, writing here on All-Stace has just enriched my life.
I want to thank all of you who have been following and reading and leaving comments. I know life has been a little drab lately but with the store closing and unemployment looming...well, it can only get better, right?
I wish all of you a wonderful day and look forward to sharing more craziness with you for many years to come!
