The other day I had a friend ask me how to find my blog. She knew I had one but had never been here. I hesitated for a nano-second because, well, let's just say that I am a little more "blunt" here on the blog.
Face to face I am a little bit more...shall we say, polite. This blog is my space where I rant, vent and just generally say EXACTLY what is on my mind the minute it is ON my mind. I'm the first to admit that it has caused problems in some relationships because people got offended but as my mother always tells me "It's MY blog where I get to vent. If people don't like it, then don't read it."
I'm not writing to try and offend anyone. The thing is, most of us don't have nice, happy, cheery thoughts all the live-long day. If you've read this blog for any amount of time, you know that I certainly do not. I started this blog almost two years ago and you know what? I am a happier person because of it! I get things off of my chest in my writings rather than keeping it bottled up inside, making me sick. This is my therapy. Sometimes I have something to say, other times it's random nonsense. Either way, I LOVE to write so this is my creative space.
It's sort of like that guy last week who left the nasty comment - if you don't like what I'm saying, don't read. Honestly, I won't be offended if you don't want to be a follower. Thanks for stopping by.
So what about you, fellow bloggers? Is your blog a creative outlet for you where you don't have to be politically correct all the time or do you still reel yourself in?

Me? Politically Correct? Never! Not on my blog, and for that matter, not in real life.
However, if I'm being really snarky in real life, I might try to remember to say "Bless her heart" after I say something really nasty.
I too am a bit more polite in person, so I have two blogs - one for the family and locals, and a different one where I can talk about the people whom read the first one. The second blog is much more fun (for me) and gets posted on a lot more often!
I tend to use my blog to vent too and I agree it's cheaper than therapy. Lol!
I'm kind of like Leigh... I started a second blog which has not been publicized for my real rants. But you are absolutely right... if it offends you or doesn't interest you, then don't read it.
stace...your real. That is great and refreshing. Hope your doing well.
I hear ya...I had undergone the same experience you do. I wanna scream at them, "if you don't like what I'm saying, go away and scram.... I don't need your cruel bashing just to make you feel superior and make you look smarter "
I am trying to be always polite but I'm also being honest and assertive on my blog ---because that's the way I am.
There are really some people who are either morons or have no "breeding" at all who just leave nasty comments .
The good thing is , I can find out who they are based on their ISP, their location, their browsers and the referral add, they're coming from and I can block them --a feature of Typepad. Those nasty comments go down to spam right away.
I need to learn to be more blunt on my blog, it would probably be very therapeutic for me. I'm just nervous because my in-laws read it everyday and they have no idea what I'm really like, lol!
Well Stace. My blog is aimed at the parent with little one's. I try to not say anything to offend. I also have to watch out what I say because my wife and relatives read it everyday.
I have a blogger blog running just for fun. Maybe I will start venting on that one. None of the relatives know about it.
Have a good day and keep venting. We love it.
I'm careful to some extent because I use my name and I don't want to really irk anyone. I do unload sometimes, and yes, I find I am a happier person blogging. I just don't like to incite certain issues because I don't want to deal with nasty comments. Been there, done that, it isn't fun.
My blog is definitely therapy for me!
