Tried at least three times to get on SSDI but got denied every time, they kept telling me I didn't submit enough medical information--even though I have a doctor's report that flat out states I can't work!

I heard a story once about a guy who was terminally ill and applied for benefits, it took several years and many appeals but he was finally approved--two months AFTER he died! His wife gets his income as a survivor's benefit.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16237029327710993810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2758033543840446585.post-82873352368756826682010-10-27T15:18:48.280-04:002010-10-27T15:18:48.280-04:00OMG, don't even get me talking about "the...OMG, don't even get me talking about "the system." I don't even get Medicaid even though I'm below poverty level with three children. They don't count my fourth (the 19 year old) even though she's in school. So she doesn't have health coverage. Thankfully, I can go to the VA hospital, but I don't have dental coverage (working on my disability claim) and I'm not going to tell you how long it has been since I've been to the dentist.

I've had ups and downs with the system for years. It's an ongoing battle. I really don't care how many cases they have they just need to conduct themselves professionally and quickly and stop playing with people's lives. They forget that they're probably a paycheck away from being in a similar situation. They should really be held more accountable.Petulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11246335892746223347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2758033543840446585.post-31850284015739404692010-10-27T11:29:07.982-04:002010-10-27T11:29:07.982-04:00Oh I hear ya....my kids are on Social Security dis...Oh I hear ya....my kids are on Social Security disability for developmental disabilities (dd is intellectually challenged and ds has ADHD/Asperger's), back in the summer their benefits were suspended because of some missing paperwork (personally I think the office LOST it). It took me sending them THREE COPIES of the same damn thing before the kids were reinstated, three months of no income, and guess what? When the reinstatement finally came it seems they forgot they owe us three months of back pay AND the amount that was deposited in our accounts wasn't the same as the amount the letter they sent us said it would be (about $100 less). Grrr I hate fighting with these people--when the kids first got on it SSA set up the direct deposit wrong (both deposits going into one account instead of each going into their own) and it took six months to get them to fix it. Not to mention their medicaid coverage was terminated which meant my son was off his ADHD meds for over two months--not fun!Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16237029327710993810noreply@blogger.com
